Traditional Shop Blinds
Hopkins manufactures traditional shop blinds, also commonly known as Victorian awnings, together with the specialist components required to manufacture, repair and restore these classic blind systems.
Traditional shop blinds have been used on British shopfronts since Victorian times and remain popular today for their distinctive appearance, practical shading and suitability for traditional and contemporary commercial premises.
At Hopkins we manufacture the principal hardware and structural components used to build traditional shop blinds, including rollers, arms, fittings, boxes and associated specialist components. Many of our individual shop blind fittings are manufactured in the UK and are available separately for trade customers undertaking new manufacture, repairs and restoration work.
Our timber shop blind boxes are joiner-made from redwood and can be painted or stained to suit the installation. Front rails and associated fixing components are also available.
The system can be supplied as individual components, sub-assemblies or as a complete traditional awning, depending on the requirements of the project. Fabric covers are available separately, with a choice of specialist awning fabrics.
A major advantage of the Hopkins system is our ability to support both new manufacture and existing installations. Replacement components can be supplied for the repair and restoration of traditional shop blinds, while bespoke requirements can be manufactured where a standard component or configuration is not suitable.
If you are manufacturing a traditional shop blind, restoring an existing Victorian awning, or require a complete system, please contact us with the dimensions and details of your project and we can help identify the components and configuration required.
